Background

Firmway’s services were running on Amazon ECS with limited automation and visibility, leading to operational inefficiencies and escalating costs. Deployments were manual, monitoring was minimal, and the infrastructure lacked disaster recovery measures.

The company sought to migrate from ECS to Amazon EKS, modernize its setup using Infrastructure as Code, and establish CI/CD pipelines, centralized monitoring, and a disaster recovery strategy — all while optimizing operational expenses and ensuring a seamless transition.

Firmway’s existing ECS-based environment presented several limitations:

• Manual Deployments: Services deployed manually without CI/CD pipelines led to slow, error-prone releases.

The goal was to deliver a scalable, observable, and cost-optimized Kubernetes infrastructure with robust automation and resiliency.

To modernize and unify Zeno Health’s infrastructure, we designed a comprehensive cloud transformation strategy centered around automation, observability, and cost efficiency.

• Rebuilt infrastructure using Terraform and Terragrunt for modular, automated provisioning.

• Adopted GitOps via Flux for version-controlled configuration and continuous cluster management.
